Lathe Machining chuck Back plate

Lathe setup to finish machine a cast iron back plate for a 4 jaw chuck. Part 1 indicate diameter and face to minimize run out of the previously threaded, semi finished, lathe chuck back plate. The chuck back plate is basically an adapter which all owes the mounting of a chuck to the specific type of spindle nose on your lathe. My Logan 920 has 2.25x8 tpi thread and a precision shoulder to allow repeatable mounting of the chuck on the lathe. To insure this minimal run out, most lathe chuck back plates are supplied either semi finished, or as a blank, with enough over sized material to be machined on the lathe spindle it is to run on.
